Silou: A Tale of an Orang Asli Directed by Yazan Al Assadi won the Best Director Award

Silou: A Tale of an Orang Asli is short documentary film about humans of the jungle we focus on a group of the first people who came to Malaysia and they are still living in one of the oldest forests in the world "Taman Negara"


About the Director: Yazan is a a filmmaker graduated from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Malaysia.


He always dreamed of being a cinema and TV director, so he started my career in acting in TV series until he gained the experience to work behind the camera.

Which fueled Yazan's passion to do his own projects when he was in high school and pushed to pursue his dream of becoming a filmmaker.


I've participated in over 50 film festivals and received my first award in 2014.
